An actual hook was recently added to the 4-year-old’s fishing gear.  But we soon found the activity became centered on trying very hard not to catch one of the multitude of panhandling turtles.  So the fishing milestone has now been bent to the extent it can’t possibly do any harm, and the 4-year-old (though still very proud of his hook) is back to just casting the line.
