When my friend Linda found out she had cancer, she wasn’t sure how she was going to deal with the inevitable hair loss that came with her chemotherapy. The prospect was daunting, to say the least. She wondered if she would even be able to look at herself in the mirror.
Then, her hair started coming out in clumps. And the next thing I knew, she had transformed. Completely. A few days ago, she emailed me: Will you be in Miami this week? I have an Easter “project” in mind and if you are, maybe you could help me face-paint my head like an Easter egg? I’ll be making an Easter Bonnet with eggs and chicks, have my head painted by you (I don’t know who else would DO it right!!), then photograph me WITH HAT and WITHOUT HAT as my Easter card. Might as well have fun with it, right??
How much more inspiring can you get? I’m so proud of my friend and of the small part I got to have in this project. Here’s the awesome Easter weekend greeting she made: (scroll, scroll, scroll!!!)
