Mermaid's Bangles
Miami, Florida
More work I did last summer, while sailing from Baltimore, MD to Jacksonville, FL. This is a series of four one-of-a-kind necklaces inspired by the magical treasures that can be found where the ocean meets the sand. This series is called Mermaid's Bangles, and is made of crocheted yarn and sterling silver wire, large agate circles strung on silk thread, and -depending on the piece- amber, fluorite, peridot, citrine, amethyst, blue topaz.

Here is a piece I made last summer, while we were in Baltimore preparing for our sail south to Miami. It is an amulet of sorts, and speaks of endings and rites and journeys into the unknown. It is made of rough agate, howlite, labradorite, wood, leather, and sterling silver, and it is called Passage.

Some months ago, my amazing friend Shipwrek released a hauntingly awesome album, called Journal. The album is a compilation of Shipwrek's musical journal entries, a capturing of a year's events in music. Which I love. Now it is paired with an equally beautiful, compelling and inspiring book of the same title. And although it really CAN'T, here's where it DOES get EVEN BETTER (at least for this proud mama): Morgan is in it. Look, look, LOOK!!!
