The 4-year-old’s literature, proudly brought home from school. Very cute.
On the local patio, having a little something.

Met this bird at the Marsh Walk. Don’t know its name. Do know it’s cute.
UPDATE: I now know its name! Birdchick tells me it’s a juvenile nigh-heron.
UPDATE 2: Uhm. Yet more evidence that any ornithology found on this blog is purely accidental. @Pave_Low has informed me: [...] should be “Night heron” (although the typo of “nearly/almost heron” can still work as it’s an immature bird :p )
Of course, none of this takes away from its cuteness.
Unidentified at least by botanically illiterate moi. These single leaf plantoids can be found in the local sand dunes, looking very busy receiving earth-invasion instructions from their home planet. They’re so cute!
