Some months ago, my amazing friend Shipwrek released a hauntingly awesome album, called Journal. The album is a compilation of Shipwrek’s musical journal entries, a capturing of a year’s events in music. Which I love. Now it is paired with an equally beautiful, compelling and inspiring book of the same title. And although it really CAN’T, here’s where it DOES get EVEN BETTER (at least for this proud mama): Morgan is in it. Look, look, LOOK!!!

Margriet (call her Mahi) was born in Amsterdam and grew up in the Netherlands, until she moved to the US at age 19. She has made art ever since she learned how to pick up a crayon, and has studied and worked in the design and art fields most of her adult life. Now based in Key Largo, she has lived in the Caribbean, Florida and California. Her home is a sailboat on which she has sailed the Western Caribbean, the Southeastern US and the US East Coast from Baltimore to Key West.
