Letter from Snow White

I'm sending back
your poisoned apple,
this taste of bitter
much too sweet -
exchanged my voice
to silenced nightmares,
I clasped my hands
and bound my feet,
wallowed while you
claimed our kingdom
for fear of loss
and lover's greed.

I've taken up
the sword beside me -
I've seen my blood
is mine to keep.

I've got the blues

A wise man told me that the word suffering means to go through. He said the word has really gotten a bad wrap in our language, that going through can -in many cases- also be a positive experience. Buddhist philosophy presents living as suffering, and blues music personifies it. So when you get the blues, the best thing you can do is embrace them - feel the music and celebrate your life.
