The length of days

Yesterday was the first day of spring, a holiday for many here in Mexico. If all went according to plan, a snake was seen crawling along the steps of a great Mayan pyramid in Chichén Itzá and a large crowd celebrated its appearance.

There is something magically auspicious about the spring equinox. The days begin to grow longer, seeds begin to sprout, birds begin to lay their eggs and Easter bunnies come out to hide them. So here is my equinox egg, if you will. It has been a very long time since I have regularly kept a personal journal - my winter has been particularly long and harrowing. I mourned many losses, the world I once knew seeming to die a little more as each freezing day got shorter. But in the midst of the cold I was given wonderful new beginnings, and now this changing length of days has brought new inspiration. I'm opening up the curtains to let the light pour all around me. I think I’m ready to face these brighter days.

I'm glad your light is shining a little into my life-- you inspire me to fight, to be myself.

I'm sending you a dream you will like.
